Best Canva Font Pairings & Combinations

While I won’t be covering any details about the font history or why these font pairings look great together, I will be providing screenshots which show exactly how each font pairing will display as a heading, subheading and body copy font.

Just a quick note before going through these— if you ever get stuck on your body copy font, remember that you don’t have to reinvent the wheel.

Instead, try and stick with one of the following classic Google fonts:

  • Lato

  • Montserrat

  • Muli

  • Open Sans

  • Raleway

  • Roboto

  • Source Sans Pro

These are all legible fonts, which is one feature you should definitely care about (especially when it comes to your website body copy font!).

Best Canva Fonts: The Complete List

Below, I’ve piled up a “master list” of my top recommendations for Canva fonts, and they’re separated by the following:

  • Canva Pro fonts

  • Canva Free fonts

And I’ve also included the following subsections:

  • Serif fonts— fonts that have the little “feet” looking stroke at the ends

  • Sans Serif fonts— fonts that do not have those little embellishments

    • Sans = without

And here’s a little visual refresher on Serifs VS. Sans Serifs

Serifs & Sans Serifs are the most common font categories, but I did go ahead & add one more to the Canva Free Font section— slab serifs!

In case you have no idea what Slab Serif fonts are, here’s a quick example:

Slab serifs are essentially just serif fonts that have a slightly more “blocky” style to them.
